1. Mattress size

How big a mattress do you need?

The mattress will breathe well and dissipate excess heat. With increasing weight and age, then choose a higher mattress. If you want to buy an adjustable grate, make sure that the mattress you have chosen is suitable for it. In general, lower mattresses fit better, up to a height of 22 cm. In any case, consider using a holder that will prevent the mattress from sliding unintentionally on the slat.

3. Body disposition

What is your character?

Although most manufacturers provide information on which weight categories a given mattress is suitable for, it is simplified information. In fact, it depends on the pressure you put on the mattress. And it is given not only by your weight, but also by height and body structure. 

Our advice is "with a growing proportion of muscle mass, choose a harder mattress“. If you are a very muscular person, you will probably feel better on a harder mattress. If you do not like movement, you will sleep better on a softer mattress.

4. Health

Do you suffer from any health problems?

The mattress can help you from some health problems. However, if you choose it wrong, the result will be the exact opposite. First of all, try to consult your doctor or physiotherapist, for example, especially if it is a more serious health problem. 
If you are not being treated anywhere, we have simple advice for you again. If you suffer from joint pain, degenerative spinal damage, bruising or venous problems, Choose a mattress with a layer that distributes point pressure well. As a rule, these mattresses are taller and softer. Try memory foam or natural latex, or soft PUR foams. Hard mattresses will be completely unsuitable for you.
If you suffer from common back pain, best to benefit your body with a mattress with lower and stronger layer surface foams. In this case, the distribution of pressure, eg by memory foam, is rather undesirable; on the contrary, a solid mattress will provide you with good service, on which it will not be a problem to change position at any time. 
But always keep in mind that the mattress must first and foremost allow the spine to relax. So choose one in which your spine is in its physiological position.

5. Allergies

Are you allergic?

If your answer is "yes", then always choose a mattress with easily removable, washable cover. If you are allergic to mites directly, make sure the cover is washable at least to 60 ° C. You can partially remove allergens by regular vacuuming, but a washing machine will do you a much better service. Washing also removes sweat and other organic impurities that create an environment suitable for mites and mold.
